If you have a Jovant chainsaw then you really ought to get this accessory! It will provide you with a fantastic lightweight pole saw and save endless frustration attempting to prune high branches. The Jovant chainsaw itself is just a wonderful tool for the garden, but the combination is outstanding. Five stars is inadequate. I can't comment about using it with the electric pruner. Sadly, I don't have one. By the way, I have a petrol driven pole saw which cost twice as much as the Jovant chainsaw and its extension pole combined. I've not used it since getting this extension pole. I will have to go petrol for really big branches, but otherwise this combination is unbeatable. The extension pole arrived in its own storage bag. To use, the battery goes on one end and the saw (without battery) clips on the other end. There is a completely new trigger system on the battery end. The pole is extendable but should be used at the minimum length to reach the branch you intend to cut. The longer the pole the more unwieldy it becomes. I cannot praise this enough!

This is a decent bit of kit, certainly up to the job... IF you make sure of your model/battery pack beforehand*. The pole extends quickly and easily, locking into place securely and safely. Same goes with the head/angle adjustment. Comes with it's own case for storage, and the whole thing is shipped well packed in a (long) box so should reach you without damage... always a bit of worry with 'long' items like this, depending on the courier of course. *If in doubt about the fitting, check out item B0DJQQ46S6 on Amazon. Very happy with this pole extension! Had a few questions regarding what it would or would not work with and customer service was very quick to respond, as well as extremely helpful! Just know that the extension will only work with the Jovant 6" chainsaw, despite Amazon saying it will work with others that have a 3 pronged battery. Does the job, cuts well, reaches where I need it to!

I installed the Makita 18-volt battery at the handle end and installed my little chain saw at the upper end. Then I pressed the safety-release and the start-button on the handle and nothing happened. After many failed attempts, I simply tried to start the saw at the upper end—and it started! So, it's getting electricity from the battery, but the switching unit at the handle is not functioning. I considered removing a bunch of screws and checking the wiring, but I instead returned it to Amazon and ordered another one. We'll see how it goes. UPDATE: After a note from the manufacturer, I studied the Amazon page for this item. Here are the facts as I interpret them. The attached tool (chainsaw, etc.) must normally use Makita batteries, but there's a catch: The tool base must have three separate metal flanges—not just two!! My little chain saw works perfectly with all my Makita 18-volt batteries, but it has only two flanges, so it is not compatible with this extension pole. This detail in unclearly addressed in a small round picture on the site (see attached photo). The advertising uses the word "interface" instead of "connectors" or "mounting bracket" or something else, and the the callout line points to the top of the pole instead of the bottom of the tool. But I now understand and I'm changing the rating to three stars because it may have worked if my chainsaw had a slightly different connector. If you buy one, check your battery connections first. FINAL REVIEW: 5 STARS After some great customer service from the seller (Jovant), who actually reached out to me to help solve my problems, I used the correct chain saw with three connectors, and it works great—exceeding my expectations.

It's good to have this to prune high branches, and it basically works. Extending is easy. But if the branch isn't cut all the way thru, it's stuck 8 ft away, and freeing it is difficult - so think twice before cutting anything that's very big. A minor annoyance is the safety button on the handle, which has to be pressed before the cut button is. It's difficult with gloves, and I see no reason for it - the blades are many feet away, so aren't going to cut off fingers. ... BTW, Jovant customer service is good, so I recommend buying from them.

In order to hold it correctly, cutting in a downward motion your thumb is the trigger finger and not your index finger, unless im missing something, its totally upside down. The tool part does not fit a Makita tool with 4 prongs which is what the makita 6inch chain saw and others come with. Even after I got the saw to fit on it, it didnt start! It does feel good but it is upside down and backwards and doesnt work with makita AT ALL There is no way to contact the seller, but your welcome to use the completely useless amazon chat thingy mo bobber. UPDATE: I didnt even reach out to Jovant because there is no way to but they responded to this "review" apparently i DID miss something on their ad. looking back they DID mention that it was NOT for a makita mini chain saw, they must have updated it since, but they made it absolutely right and offered me a jovant saw free of charge and shipping! 5 stars because their customer service and desire to make it right even though i miss read the ad, lets hope the saw is just as good as their customer service THANK YOU JOVANT!! you have my business. Just an FYI, if you made the pole to fit makita tools you guys would kill it.
